Paramus Music Teacher Dies In Bicycle Crash

PARAMUS, N.J. – Paramus is mourning a popular middle school orchestra teacher who died as a result of a bicycle accident in Hawthorne, NJ.com reports.

Jocelyn Gertel, a Ridgewood resident, was riding downhill when she lost control and went over her handlebars, the story says.

"The school community is very devastated by her loss. She was very well-respected, very well-liked and she will be greatly missed," Paramus Schools Superintendent Michele Robinson told NJ.com.
