Dec. 1 marked the 95th anniversary of the first graduating New Jersey State Police class under the leadership of the their first superintendent, Colonel H. Norman Schwarzkopf.
The West Point graduate instilled what he learned from the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Army he within his new troopers — who are still taught those same ideals today.
The annual visit to West Point serves as leadership reminder for troopers and underscores the importance of honor, duty and fidelity in advancing the police profession.
