For sugar skulls, Flormar recommends using a loose, translucent powder to set a strong white base, which must be dried before applying any designs. Also, don't be afraid to embrace color for dynamic designs. For example, red and black instill drama, while pink, blues and yellow make for a flirty design.
If you don't have time to cover your entire face, Flormar recommends a split sugar skull that's complete on one side. Counter the skulled portion with a dramatic eye on the other side using eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara.
Vampire make-up requires only a foundation or powder a few shades lighter than your actual complexion. Next, create deep, hollow eyes with deep purple, gray and black eye shadow. Deep purple shade as an under eye liner can be used for extra effect. Use gray eye shadow under the cheek bones and at the temples, and complete the look with burgundy lipstick.
