All are encouraged to wear costumes to the free, two-hour event at Petruska Park.
There is one hunt scheduled at 10:30 a.m. for all of the age groups, but there will be one designated area for preschoolers, one for kindergarteners and another for students in grades 1 and up, according to organizers.
Other activities are to include a bounce house, inflatables and carnival games, according to organizers.
There will be a costume contest for each grade level during which students will have the opportunity to win plaques for the most creative use of materials, the most original concept, the funniest costume, the scariest costume, the most exquisite costume, the best representation of an athletic figure, the best representation of an animal, the best cartoon character or icon, the most patriotic costume and the best costumed animal.
In the event of rain, the Pumpkin Hunt will be moved to 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. If weather is a concern, an announcement will be made on the Paramus Recreation Facebook page.
