With Father's Blessing, River Edge Diner Reopens For Business

RIVER EDGE, N.J. — After nearly six months of renovations, the River Edge Diner is back in business.

Dozens of community members gathered outside of the eatery Sunday evening, as owner George Sideras, his father, Steve, and Mayor Edward Mignone cut the ribbon alongside the borough's color guard on the new and improved facility.

"This is more than just a business for us," Sideras said to the crowd. "This is our life."

The new look boasts an outdoor patio for up to 50 people, a bar, refinished tables and booths, a mini fireplace, a build-your-own salad bar (in the kitchen) and high-end pastry chefs to stock the 15-foot pie case.

The partitions in the back room — added in the most recent 1998 renovation — have been completely removed, opening the space to tables.

The River Edge Diner will be open to the public on Monday, Sept. 11.
