Livoti's Old World Market Opening In Brick Township
An Italian grocery store known for gourmet meats and other delicacies is opening its first location in Ocean County. Livoti's Old World Market said it will open its newest store in Brick Township on Thursday, Mar. 7. The store will be located in the Laurel Square shopping plaza on Route 88. This will be the fifth market for Livoti's, which started in 2010 with its first store in Aberdeen. The other three markets are in Monmouth County in Freehold, Marlboro, and Middletown. Crash Closes Route 88 In Brick Township: DOT
A crash investigation closed all lanes of Route 88 in Brick Township Tuesday evening, Dec. 26, the NJDOT website says. The crash happened around 8 p.m. on the eastbound side near Jack Martin Boulevard, the DOT said. A 10 minute delay was being reported as of 8:55 p.m.

Crash Closes Route 9 In Lakewood
A crash and fluid spill closed Route 9 in Lakewood, authorities said. the crash occurred at about noon on Wednesday, Sept. 6 northbound north of Route 88, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Jersey Shore Man Arrested In Road Rage Incident: Police
A 24-year-old driver from Point Pleasant was arrested in connection with a road rage incident and fleeing Brick police, authorities said. Jonathan Weydig was arrested with the assistance of Point Pleasant police, according to Brick police. Weydig had six outstanding warrants and was charged with eluding officers, obstruction and hindering apprehension, police said. Weydig also was issued 12 motor vehicle summonses, they said. On May 12, Brick Street Crimes Unit detectives were traveling in an unmarked vehicle at Route 88 and Post Road when they observed a road rage incident, police said. …

Four Arrested After Brick Detectives Overhear Them Talking About Drug Sales: Police
Brick detectives were conducting surveillance around the Walmart on Route 88 when they reportedly overheard four suspects talking about their engagement in drug activity, police said. The detectives made contact with the suspects on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. and K-9 Officer Ray LaPoint responded with his K-9 partner Rebel. An exterior sniff of the suspects’ vehicles resulted in positive indications for the presence of controlled dangerous substances, police said. Brick Police Seek Tips In Hit-Run Crash Involving Pickup
Police in Brick Township seek the public's help locating a pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run crash. On Saturday, Oct. 8, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash occurred at West Princeton Avenue and Hoffman Street, police said. A female pedestrian was entering her vehicle which was parked adjacent to the roadway on West Princeton Avenue, when a dark-colored pick-up truck struck her with the passenger side of their vehicle, causing injuries to her face, police said. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash involving a New Jersey Transit bus, authorities said. A 33-year-old man, who has not been identified, was killed, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. The fatal crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. Monday at the Lakewood Bus Terminal on Route 88, Billhimer said. Police: Lakewood Man Moons Walmart Customers, Records It
A Lakewood man mooned several Walmart customers -- including a young child -- and recorded it on his cellphone, authorities said. Mordechai Grubin, 27, was charged with lewdness, Brick Sgt. James Kelly said. Patrolman Joseph Riccio responded to a call from the Route 88 store around 5 p.m. Thursday. Riccio arrested Grubin, who was later released on a summons.

Metuchen Man Charged After String Of Burglaries In Point Pleasant
A 39-year-old man was charged Tuesday with criminal mischief and theft after burglaries were reported at a Point Pleasant gas station as well as near Bay Avenue, police said. Steven Lawson of Metuchen was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft and third-degree criminal mischief linked to a burglary at the Conoco Gas Station on Route 88 in September 2019, Point Pleasant police said. Point Pleasant Driver, 27, Spared Jail Time After Fleeing Crash With Teen Bicyclist
A 27-year-old Point Pleasant woman was sentenced Friday to probation and community service after admitting she fled a crash that seriously injured a 14-year-old bicyclist on Route 88. Brittany Keifer, 27, took a deal from prosecutors, pleading guilty to leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily harm, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
