A Monmouth County Jury has returned guilty verdicts on nearly all charges against the Jersey Shore man who murdered a longtime family friend, authorities said.

A former Ocean Township police officer has been sentenced to probation for acts of theft and forgery associated with his former part-time work buying, renting, and selling real estate, authorities said.
Cory R. Cole, 52, of Brielle was sentenced Thursday, Aug. 18 to three years of probation, after paying $8,400 in restitution to two victims, they said.

A former Ocean Township police officer has admitted committing theft and forgery in connection with properties he bought and rented, authorities said.
Cory R. Cole, 51, of Brielle, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 21, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.
Under a plea agreement, the State will recommend probation if Cole pays $8,400 in restitution to two separate victims prior to sentencing, Linskey said.
