Mike D'Amore was being mourned by many after an ATV crash that killed him in Lacey. D'Amore, 58, of Jackson, was riding on a 2019 Polaris Razor side-by-side off road vehicle, in an open dirt area of Lacey Materials when he hit a dirt embankment and went airborne around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, local police said. EMS Volunteer Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Route 9 Jersey Shore A volunteer member of the Bayville First Aid Squad was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle turning from Route 9 into a shopping center parking lot in Forked River, authorities said. Michael McCabe, 49, was riding north on Route 9 and the southbound vehicle driven by 55-year-old Anne Danza of Forked River was turning left into Sunset Plaza at 5:59 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, Lacey police said. Pedestrian Airlifted After Being Struck By Toms River Police Car A 42-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck by a Toms River police car Sunday, May 29, authorities said. The man was trying to cross Fischer Boulevard at Adams Avenue when he was struck around 10 p.m., local police said. He was flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit responded to the scene. The accident is currently under investigation.
