Police ID Driver, 23, Killed In South Brunswick Christmas Eve Morning Crash Police have identified the 23-year-old driver killed in a crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick. Vedant Tiru was in the left lane of Route 1 south near New Road when he lost control, slid sideways across the roadway, and struck a utility pole around 12:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, South Brunswick police said. Tiru was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kendall Park First Aid, Kendall Park Fire Department, Middlesex County Medical Examiner, and New Jersey State Department of Transportation responded to the crash. 21-Year-Old Passenger Killed In Central Jersey Crash: Police South Brunswick Police continue to investigate a fatal crash that killed a 21-year-old passenger from Monroe.  At 10:32 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, South Brunswick police received multiple 911 calls of an overturned van on Route 130 near Deans Rhode Hall Road.  Officers found a 2003 Ford Econoline van had been traveling Route 130 southbound being driven by Eli Szmer a 32-year-old man from Monroe.  Szmer for unknown reasons lost control of his vehicle and crossed the grass divider, the northbound lanes of travel then struck the guardrail off the northbound shoulder of the highway…

Central Jersey Motorist, 52, Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash A 52-year-old man from Somerset County died in a collision with a tractor-trailer, authorities said. The motorist, whose name had not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the Friday evening crash, South Brunswick police said on Saturday. First responders were called to the crash on Route 130 at 7:16 p.m., police said. A preliminary investigation found that the tractor-trailer was stopped at a traffic light and the passenger car read-ended it. Motorist Struck While Changing Tire On I-295 Burlington County A motorist trying to change a tire was struck by a passing vehicle on Interstate 295 in Burlington County, authorities said. The pedestrian was hit about 3:30 p.m. on I-295 northbound in Mount Laurel near mile-marker 38, according to initial reports.  An unconfirmed report said the victim suffered a severe leg injury, and that a second advanced life support team was requested.  The state Department of Transportation was requested to close down part of the highway.  The medevac unit was down due to poor flying conditions.
