Robbery Investigated At Toms River Convenience Store Toms River police are investigating a robbery of a convenience store. On Tuesday at approximately 9 p.m., Toms River police were dispatched to Lakewood Road, on the corner of Cox Cro Road, for a reported robbery in progress, police said. Two male suspects allegedly entered the convenience store, walked behind the counter and physically assaulted the clerk. He was struck in the face numerous times before being forced to open the register, police said. The suspects removed the money from the drawer and fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of proceeds.  …

Ocean Beach Drowning Victim Identified A 43-year-old  drowning victim found lying on a Jersey Shore beach has been identified, authorities said.  The body of Jennifer Jack of Lavallette was found unresponsive on the beach along the waterfront, according to  Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. About 6 a.m. on Saturday, Toms River police, with help from New Jersey State Police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, recovered her body in the Ocean Beach section of the township.  An autopsy concluded the cause of death to be drowning. “At this point in time, there’s no evidence to sugges…
