Lauren Kidd Ferguson began her journalism career in 2004 as a statehouse reporter for Gannett New Jersey. She was a member of a team that covered state government and politics for seven daily newspapers throughout New Jersey. Her coverage of the McGreevey administration and young voters earned her the New Jersey Press Association’s award for best rookie reporter in the state. Lauren also served as a reporter for Gannett’s flagship New Jersey paper, the Asbury Park Press. She covered communities along the Jersey Shore, and won investigative reporting awards for writing about police brutality in Seaside Park. She has also worked as a speechwriter and spokesperson for the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, as well as a communications manager for Children’s Rights, a national advocacy organization that uses the law to reform foster care systems. Lauren graduated from the College of New Jersey. She grew up in Ringwood, and now calls Waldwick home. She believes everyone has a story to tell, and she’d love to hear yours.

Wayne Shop Sells Winning $50K Lottery Ticket WAYNE, N.J. – A winning $50,000 lottery tickets was recently sold in Wayne, lottery official announced Thursday. The ticket was sold at T-Bowl Smoke Shop, 1055 Hamburg Turnpike. The ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball drawn for the Wednesday, Sept. 27th drawing. The winning numbers for the drawing were: : 08, 10, 21, 23 and 25. The Red Power Ball number was 22. The Multiplier number was 03. The Powerball jackpot rolls to $80,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Saturday, Sept. 30.

Two For One? Dual-Branded Hotel Opening In Teaneck TEANECK, N.J. – A 350-room hotel is set to open in Teaneck next year. The “dual-branded” hotel being constructed at the mixed-use Glenpointe complex will contain 190 Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton rooms and 160 Homewood Suites by Hilton units, according to Hackensack-based real estate developer Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. The two brands will share the same entrance, meeting room, function space, fitness center and parking garage, according to the developer. The company recently held a “topping out” event – a construction milestone marking the final concrete pour for the project.
