Greenwood Lake Man, Former Nypd Officer, Indicted On Sexual Assault Charges A retired NYPD officer who resides in Greenwood Lake was indicted on charges of sexual assault against two of his family members last week, according to News 12.  Nicholas McAteer, 45, who worked in a Manhattan a sex crimes unit, is facing 82 counts of sex abuse. West Point Officials Discuss Sexual Assault At Board Of Visitors Meeting WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sexual assault and sexual harassment was a central topic during the Board of Visitors meeting at West Point on Friday, according to the Times Herald-Record.  Sixteen cases of sexual assault or sexual harassment have been reported so far during the 2017-18 year – roughly the same as last year, the Record reported.  The most concerning point, according to Lt. Police Seize 3 Pounds Of Pot In Traffic Stop Near Orange Border A 19-year-old man is facing drug charges after police found more than three pounds of marijuana in his car during a routine traffic stop on Monday morning, New York State Police said.  Sihang Yin of New Hyde Park on Long Island was pulled over on Interstate 87 in the Town of Plattekill for speeding. A probable cause search uncovered the marijuana, Troopers said.  Yin was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and released. No future court dates were available, Troopers said.

Warwick FD Snuffs Out 2-Alarm House Fire WARWICK, N.Y. – The Warwick Fire Department beat down a two-alarm fire in a local subdivision on Friday.  The Department responded to the call just before 3 p.m. and found the outside of a house on Seward Dr. in flames.  Responders were able to quickly extinguish the flames upon arrival, officials said.

Police Officer Daniel Hudson took the oath of office which was administered by Town Clerk Louisa Ingrassia. Hudson was previously employed as an Assistant Store Manager at the Newburgh Walmart and has earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from SUNY Albany. He will attend 5 months of training at the Orange County Police Academy before beginning his field training under the supervision of Field Training Officers at TWPD.

State Police Seize Crack, Heroin, Pot In Montgomery Motel Drug Bust MONTGOMERY, N.Y. – New York State Police seized crack, cocaine, heroin and marijuana from two suspects in a Montgomery Motel, authorities said.  State Police were investigating suspicious activity at the motel when they found Dwayne Wallace, 53, of Newburgh, and Kathleen Delucia, 23, of Montgomery, in possession of the drugs, troopers said.  Both were charged with three counts each of third and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
