No Initial Fault Found In Parking Lot Crash That Killed Wanaque Woman, 58

WANAQUE, N.J. – A preliminary investigation found no reason to charge the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a 58-year-old Wanaque woman in a supermarket parking lot Thursday night, authorities said Friday.

Justin Wagner, 27, of Haskell, “was not intoxicated nor speeding” when his 2016 Ram 2500 struck Susan Fredericks in the Union Avenue Stop and Shop parking lot at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wanaque Police Chief Robert Kronyak said in a joint announcement.

Fredericks “was taken to Chilton Memorial Hospital, where she later died as a resulted of the injuries sustained,” they said.

Wagner has a valid driver’s license, the release says.

No charged had been filed as of Friday afternoon, although the investigation was continuing, authorities said.
