Andrew D. Jennings, 20, of Philadelphia, was charged with murder, possessing instruments of crime, obstructing justice, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence in the stabbing death of Lisa Shurine Jennings, who was also confirmed to be his aunt, Pennsylvania State Police said on Jan. 26.
Jennings' body was found by a visitor in the Bensalem portion of the park around 10 a.m., on Jan. 8, authorities said.
In an attempt to identify the body, responding troopers publicly shared an image of Jennings' tattoo on her right arm, which read "Lisa."
As a result, family members of the victim came forward and positively identified her as Lisa S. Jennings, police said.
The Bucks County Coroner's Office on Jan. 10 confirmed she died of multiple stab and slash wounds to the neck, according to state police. Her death was ruled a homicide.
On Jan. 10, state police served a search warrant at a home in the 2100 block of East Cambria Street in Philadelphia, which turned up evidence of a homicide, authorities said.
Investigators learned that Andrew D. Jennings traveled from the Cambria Street location to Neshaminy State Park on the morning of Jan. 8.
Andrew D. Jennings was arrested on Jan. 11 on a probation violation, and later charged with Lisa S. Jennings' murder, police said. He was subsequently sent to Bucks County Prison.
Authorities confirmed he acted alone in the crime and no one else is being sought.
