One Thousand Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children. By reading one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children essential early literacy skills.

Pledge cards are available at the Ringwood Public Library for parents to add children’s names to the library’s thousand books bulletin board.

Books read during Nursery Rhyme Time (Mondays at 10:30 a.m.) and Spring Story Time (Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. at the Ringwood Public Library) can be added to your child’s 1000 books list.

More information is available at www.1000booksbeforekindergarten.org as well as a 1000 books free app to track progress.

The Ringwood Public Library is located at 30 Cannici Dr.
