North Jersey Native, Husband Killed By Pickup Truck In Florida
Monica Hong a 40-year-old Secaucus native, was killed along with her husband on Saturday, July 6, after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Florida, authorities said.
At 10:10 p.m., Hong and her husband, Ben Steigner were crossing U.S. Highway 98 when they were fatally struck by a Toyota Tacoma traveling westbound in Franklin County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service across much of New Jersey ahead of drizzles expected to turn into downpours.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain is expected with both showers and thunderstorms producing heavy downpours Friday afternoon, July 12 through Saturday afternoon, July 13, the National Weather Service said.

Shamika Bodino, a 32-year-old mom from Monmouth County, died at home on Wednesday, July 3, according to her obituary on the Clayton Funeral Home site.

The 20-year-old Pompton Plains resident was the only person to escape a two-car crash caused by a wrong-way driver on the Garden State Parkway on Friday, July 5, with her life.
Two people were killed in the crash, both the Newark woman who caused the crash and the driver of the vehicle Dabice was riding in, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
Dabice sustained two broken tibias, a broken femur, a broken arm, a fractured C2 in her spine, eight fractured ribs, a lacerated spleen, a lacerated liver and an occluded artery in the crash.
