Clifton Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Young Victim For 6 Years
A Clifton man sexually assaulted a young victim over the course of six years, beginning when the child was 12, authorities charged.
Corey Ervin, 44, remained held in the Passaic County Jail following his arrest Monday on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated criminal contact and child endangerment, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said.
Detectives from her Special Victims Unit began investigating after being notified by the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Valdes said Tuesday.

Child Abuse: Paterson Couple Charged With Beating Boy, 7
A Paterson couple was jailed for repeatedly beating a 7-year-boy, authorities said.
Davon Burton, 26, and Demetries Page, 24, became the focus of an investigation after a worker with the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted detectives with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, authorities said Thursday.
The investigators interviewed multiple witnesses, including the boy, they said.

UPDATE: For four years, a Passaic couple cruelly beat their two children with a variety of objects, authorities charged.
Alfredo Medina, 48, and his wife, Wanda Fernandez, 30, "never brought the children to receive medical attention at a doctor’s office or hospital after the assaults," one law enforcement official said.
A large metal buckle, a large refrigerator handle and power cords were used in the assaults, the official said.
