140 Shopping Carts Stolen From Rochelle Park ShopRite: Man, 77, Younger Pal Busted
A 77-year-old Cuban national and a middle-aged accomplice from Newark were arrested after 140 shopping carts were stolen from the Rochelle Park ShopRite over the course of two weeks, authorities said. The carts began vanishing from the parking lot of the West Passaic Street supermarket on March 27, Rochelle Park Police Capt. James M. A salmonella outbreak that sickened nine people in New Jersey has been traced to ShopRite stores, officials said. Grocery shoppers have another supermarket to try in Bergen County. A ShopRite opened in Fair Lawn at 22-00 Maple Ave. in the Maple Avenue Plaza on Friday, June 16. The supermarket offers a bakery, a café, a meat department and a wellness department staffed with a dietician. The 72,000-square foot ShopRite is run by Inserra Supermarkets, which operates 22 ShopRites and two Price Rite Marketplaces in North Jersey and Rockland County. The store replaces the previous Shop Rite in Fair Lawn at River Road which closed on Thursday, June 15.

Sussex County Native Kristen Wargacki Dies, 36
Sussex County native Kristen Wargackie died on Sunday, Feb. 26. She was 36 years old. A Vernon native, Kristen worked at ShopRite in Franklin for many years and at the Mixing Bowl Restaurant, where she amassed countless friends, according to her obituary.
