Juan Mejia, 44, of Paterson, was being held Friday in the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing this coming Wednesday. A Jersey City man who was being followed by Clifton police sustained serious injuries after crashing his motorcycle on Route 3 at the Route 1&9 off-ramp, authorities said. The 26-year-old motorcyclist was headed eastbound he crashed his 2000 Suzuki just after 9 p.m. Sunday, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said. The motorcyclist, who wasn't identified, was unconscious and unresponsive following the crash, authorities said. A Lyndhurst woman on her way to work was killed when her truck slammed into a tree early Saturday, authorities said.
