SantaCon Arrests: Bergen County Resident Among 8 Charged, Police Say Some people attending SantaCon 2024 in Hoboken, including several from out of state, couldn't help but end up on the naughty list. Multiple Route 17 Crashes Snarl Traffic Veterans Day In Waldwick, Ho-Ho-Kus Multiple motor vehicle crashes early Monday, Nov. 11, created traffic delays for drivers along Route 17 in Bergen County.  According to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving, a series of crashes on both the northbound and southbound lanes led to backups and lane closures, as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway. On the northbound side, several collisions occurred just north of East Prospect Street. Another H2oi Arrest Made With More Possibly On The Way Yet another arrest has been made in the deadly H2oi meetup held last month in Wildwood and authorities say more could be on the way. Zion Diaz, of Hammonton, told others to block intersections, perform "burnouts" and block police vehicles from responding to emergency calls the night of Sept. 24, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said. Diaz was arrested without incident and was charged with riot, a crime of the 4th degree. Bayonne Man Charged In Hit-Run That Seriously Injured 31-Year-Old Jersey City Woman A Bayonne man was charged in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 31-year-old Jersey City woman earlier this year, authorities said. On March 24, the woman was crossing Palisade Avenue just south of Bowers Street in Jersey City Heights when she was struck by a four-door sedan driven by Magdy Botros, 51, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Salvatore Bonodonna, 28, received summonses when Garfield police caught him after the crippled sedan hit another parked car on Market Street. The 2008 Cadillac CTS lost its front passenger wheel when it hit a parked car on 7th Street in Saddle Brook around 5 a.m., Police Chief Robert Kugler said. Fiery Accident Shuts Rt. 7 In Kearny A section of Rt. 7 in Kearny was closed Wednesday morning because of a downed utility pole caused by a motor-vehicle crash hours earlier.  The lanes were closed in both directions between Schuyler Avenue and Ridge Road, according to the DOT.  A witness who saw the accident early this morning and other witnesses quoted in a published report said a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
