NJ's Aaron Rodgers Declines To Apologize To Jimmy Kimmel Over Epstein Claims
Aaron Rodgers does not believe Jimmy Kimmel is a pedophile. That was about the nicest thing the Essex County resident had to say about the late night talk show host. Rodgers appeared on his weekly spot on ESPN's "The Pat McAfee Show," on Tuesday, Jan. 9, where he attempted to clarify his previous comments where he implied Kimmel was a patron of Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy financier and a convicted sex offender. The New York Jets quarterback, who purchased a mansion in Cedar Grove following his trade to Gang Green, said by saying Kimmel didn't want Epstein's client list to be released, he w…

CDC Tracking More Immune-Evasive
Covid-
19 Variant Growing In Northeast
With more than 300 COVID-19 Omicron sublineages circulating around the globe, a new potentially more contagious variant called XBB is being closely monitored by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). XBB is considered more immune-evasive than other Omicron variants, Chief White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week. But government officials said they don't think XBB will become a threat at the level of Omicron, which first emerged on the global scene almost exactly a year ago. Though XBB now accounts for just over 3 percent of new cases in t…

Omicron: Highly Transmissible Variant Expected To Cause 'Viral Blizzard,' Experts Say
Just when you think you've dodged the coronavirus, up pops a new variant: Omicron. The good news is that the new COVID-19 variant is milder than the Delta variant, but chances of reinfection are nearly five times higher, according to a recent study by the Imperial College London. Experts say that a "viral blizzard" could be upon us in the coming weeks, all thanks to Omicron. That means that Omicron might actually be helpful in achieving herd immunity faster. Officials are still urging everyone to get vaccinated, which can prevent life-threatening symptoms of the COVID-…

19: First Case Of New Omicron Variant Identified In United States
Omicron, the new strain of COVID that has caused worldwide alarm the last week, has been detected in the United States for the first time. Health officials had been bracing for the first such Omicron case for days, and early Wedneday afternoon, Dec. 1, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention confirmed a person in California has been infected with the new strain. The San Francisco Department of Health said the individual was a traveler who returned from South Africa on Monday, Nov. 22, and tested positive for COVID on Monday, Nov. 29. The individual was fully vaccinated and experie…

NJ Company's Experimental COVID Drug Could Be Major Game-Changer
New Jersey drug manufacturer Merck & Co. and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics on Friday said the new experimental COVID-19 drug significantly reduces hospitalization time and chance of death for 50 percent of patients with mild to moderate cases. In light of the new findings, the Kenilworth-based company has stopped the drug's trial to apply for emergency use authorization. Molnupiravir is an oral pill and inhibits the replication of the virus inside of the body. “The news of the efficacy of this particular antiviral is obviously very good news,” White House chief medical advisor Dr. Ant…

Anti-Vax Podcast Star Joe Rogan: ‘I GOT COVID’
Podcast star Joe Rogan – who was blasted by the Biden Administration earlier this year for telling young people not to get vaccinated -- told his millions of followers on Wednesday, "I GOT COVID." The Newark-born comedian, who hosts the hugely popular Spotify podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience," told his 13 million Instagram followers that he was using a drug that health experts have urged the public to avoid. Rogan, 54, said in the video (see below) that he has “fevers and sweats” and “threw the kitchen sink” at the illness – including monoclonal antibodies and ivermectin, which is ordinar…

19 Vaccine Proves 99.999% Effective In New Jersey
Forty-nine individuals who were fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 have died through July 12 in New Jersey, news reports say. In other words, the vaccine has proven to be 99.999 percent effective. Department of Health spokeswoman Donna Leusner told NJ Advance Media on Wednesday that more than half of those people had at least one underlying medical condition. All of those individuals were over the age of 50; 30 were over 80 12 were between 65 and 79; and six were between 50 and 64, NJ.com reports. The fatalities account for approximately one in 100,000 fully vaccinated residents, meaning …

: One In 5 Americans Believes US Government Is Using
Covid-
19 Vaccine To Microchip Citizens
One in five Americans believes the federal government is using the COVID-19 vaccine to microchip the population, according to a recent poll. The sharpest divisions between pro- and anti-vaxxers in America, to few people's surprise, are political, the Economist/YouGov poll found. Nearly 30% of Republican poll respondents – and only 4% of Democrats -- said they aren’t getting vaccinated. More whites than Black and Hispanic respondents in the Economist/You Gov poll said they reject the vaccine, while more Midwesterners and Southerners came out against vaccination than elsewhere in the country…

'We Need More Time On The Clock': Murphy Won't Be Ditching Face Masks So Soon
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy proved he isn't a follower. While state leaders in Connecticut, New York, Delaware and Pennsylvania are allowing fully-vaccinated individuals to ditch face masks inside in accordance with the CDC's new guidelines, Murphy says "not yet." "This is not forever and always," the governor said during Monday's COVID-19 press conference. "We just need more time on the clock." Citing Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Biden, Murphy said that the premature, widespread removal of mask mandates especially indoors could reignite the virus. There…

Ground And Pound: White House, Fauci Slam Rogan For Discouraging Vaccinations
Joe Rogan took a hammer fist from the White House and a spinning back kick from Dr. Anthony Fauci on Wednesday after he advised young fans against getting the COVID vaccine. “I guess my first question would be: Did Joe Rogan become a medical doctor while we weren’t looking?” White House communications director Kate Bedingfield told CNN during what became a tag-team takedown. The Jersey-born comedian and popular podcast host – who also calls televised Ultimate Fighting Championship matches -- delivered his advisory on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Spotify’s most popular podcast. “If you’…

19: With Concert Experiments Succeeding, Big Shows Could Return This Fall, Fauci Says
Successes with experimental concerts in Spain and Germany have convinced Dr. Anthony Fauci that big shows could return to the U.S. this fall -- provided Americans reach an effective level of herd immunity. “I think you can start getting back to almost full capacity of seating,” the nation's top infectious disease expert said during a virtual live event over the weekend. “What the performing arts needs to do is to do a little bit more of what the Germans are doing,” Fauci noted. A controlled experiment in Germany featuring a show by pop singer Tim Bendzko safely accommodated about 1,400 at…

19 Restrictions, Says Vaccine Coming Spring 2021
Gov. Phil Murphy announced new COVID-19 restrictions in the midst of New Jersey's second wave. Murphy also said he spoke with Dr. Anthony Fauci over the weekend, who was "unequivocal" when he said a vaccine will be ready in April or May. "We're in a sprint for the next six months," Murphy said. The governor remained hopeful a vaccine would be ready for wide distribution in Spring 2021, as long as "all the tires have been checked. "A vaccine doesn't mean we're back to where we were," Murphy said. "But it [will be] a hugely different environment. We've got to use that. "We have a plan rea…

19 Spiking In 5 New Jersey Counties
Coronavirus is "rising to a level of concern" in five New Jersey counties, Gov. Phil Murphy said at his latest briefing in Trenton. "Whether it's through worship, indoor home gatherings, regardless of what the reason," said Murphy, "we are not out of the woods." As of Friday, there were 202,100 positive cases in the state, he said. Ocean County reported 439 cases -- the highest number of new ones in the state since Monday, NJ Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli said. Lakewood accounts for at least half of those cases, Persichilli said. Lakewood has become a "hot spot" for the virus, acco…

Fauci: COVID Could Block Pro Football’s Season If It Doesn't Copy NBA's 'Bubble'
The coronavirus pandemic could cancel the 2020 NFL season unless the league follows the NBA’s “bubble” approach, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Thursday. “Unless players are essentially in a bubble -- insulated from the community and they are tested nearly every day -- it would be very hard to see how football is able to be played this fall,” Fauci told CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta. “f there is a second wave, which is certainly a possibility and which would be complicated by the predictable flu season, football may not happen this year,” said Fauci, who’s been the face of the United States' fight agains…

Turns Out Hydroxychloroquine Isn’t Miracle Drug, Experts Say
It turns out an anti-malarial drug hasn’t been the “game changer” as some thought it would be in fighting the coronavirus. It could even prove harmful, experts warn. Researchers have reported no benefit from using hydroxychloroquine in U.S. veterans hospitals, saying they found more deaths among those given the drug than under standard care. In addition, a panel of experts convened by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases recommended that physicians don’t use a suggested combo of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for the treatment of COVID-19 patients because of poten…
