UPDATE: The cold-blooded drive-by killing of a 26-year-old Paterson man nine months ago was cracked with the arrest of a city resident, authorities announced Tuesday. The victim, Marvin Lavezarri, was with two other people in a car parked near the corner of Berkshire and Chamberlain avenues shortly before 9 p.m. Jan. 23 when another vehicle pulled up and a gunman opened fire, they said. Haledon PD: Taxi Traffic Stop Leads To Capture Of Wanted Man With Loaded Gun
A passenger in a taxi cab stopped for a traffic violation wasn't only wanted out of Pennsylvania -- he was also carrying a loaded gun, police in Haledon said. Officer Jeffrey Welsh and Kris Duci stopped the Paterson cab after the driver failed to signal a turn at the intersection of West Broadway and Chamberlain Avenue shortly after noon Wednesday, Sept. 21, Capt. HER? Police Say She Robbed A Paterson Bank Of More Than $5,000
Paterson police turned to the public for help Wednesday in trying to catch a woman who robbed a local bank of more than $5,000. Wearing a blue hooded jacket and blue-and-white scarf, the robber handed a teller at the Wells Fargo branch on Chamberlain Avenue a crumpled note on Monday (inset photo above), surveillance video of the holdup shows.
