Peanut Butter: The Scary Story Of How This Bergen County Dog Got His Name
Peanut butter is one of the best condiments around, and this adoptable dog in Teterboro sure knows it. The 1-year-old pittie mix currently at the Bergen County Animal Shelter was licking peanut butter off of the spatula, when the tip broke off and he swallowed that, too. The pup had to undergo surgery and spent a good while recovering, but is now healthy and ready for adoption. Full of life and adventure, he's looking for an active household that can provide him with plenty of stimulation and TLC. CLICK HERE TO APPLY FOR PEANUT BUTTER.

Bergen Democrat To Resign From NJ Assembly For 'Different Position'
Bergen County Democrat Timothy Eustace will be resigning from the state Assembly Friday, NJ.com reports. The 61-year-old Maywood resident is the second openly gay person ever to have been elected to the New Jersey legislature. Eustace said he is moving on to a "different position" but did not disclose anything more, the article says. Ridgefield Police Officer Takes In Pit Bull Grieving Owner
A local Pit Bull whose owner recently died has found a new home with a Ridgefield police officer. Kevin Nebbia of Cliffside Park met Spanky while working. "I fell in love with that dog," Nebbia told Daily Voice. "He was always very playful." And so, Nebbia put in his adoption application for Spanky, a…

Low-Maintenance Closter Dog Was Surrendered By Longtime Family
CLOSTER, N.J. -- An 8-year-old Pekingese at CLAWS in Closter is in need of a new home. Rocco was left at a shelter by his owners who no longer wanted to keep him, so the rescue took him into the group and got him his very own foster home. He took about a week to adjust and was pretty nervous at first. But now, Rocco asks for attention and is starting to play with his dog roommate. "He came to us looking like a serious little guy but now you'll catch him wagging his tail and smiling," CLAWS said. He likes to go for walks and is low maintenance. He would be best in a quieter ho…

Maywood Mom Spots Missing Dog Who Survived 5 Days In Frigid Temps
MAYWOOD, N.J. — A dog who went missing in Maywood last Friday went back to her foster home Wednesday. A woman who lives on Club Way was waiting for her child to arrive home from school when she spotted the Shar-Pei mix in her yard, Ruff Rehab Inc officials told Daily Voice. The rescue sent a friend who was posting flyers down the street to retrieve the dog, who was then reunited with her foster family, officials said. Sheba is in good shape and doing well. She will be available for adoption once she is cleared.
