NORTHVALE, N.J. -- Crossing guards in Northvale on Wednesday morning began using flashing LED stop signs.
"In the interest of public safety, the new flashing stop signs will increase visibility to oncoming motor vehicle traffic while simultaneously making it safer for pedestrians and children crossing within the crosswalk," Police Capt. Howard Ostrow said.
"The addition of the LED lights will also promote increased visibility during morning sun glare and inclement weather," he added.
