Gun in Closter holdup recovered, final suspect caught

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A gun used during a drug deal gone bad was in the hands of an Englewood 16-year-old after being stolen in Pennsylvania, said Closter police, who this week made the last of five arrests in the case.

The Easter Day holdup included two juveniles. One was the victim, who, although banged up, followed the robbers to Englewood, where they abandoned their car, Closter police said. The other had the gun, they said.

Police have charged the 17-year-old Closter resident with marijuana possession and distribution.

The 16-year-old Englewood boy was charged with robbery and various weapons charges.

Arrested on Tuesday and charged with robbery and aggravated assault with a weapon is Daquan Frazier, 18, of Englewood. He was freed Thursday after posting $25,000 bail.

Roger Buchanan, 20, also of Englewood, has been free on $25,000 bail following his release last month. He’s charged with robbery, as is Justin Warshavsky, 19, of Harrington Park.

The Englewood boy is being held at the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Facility in Paramus. The status of the Closter juvenile couldn’t be determined.

Closter police said they had significant help from their counterparts in Tenafly and Englewood.
