Paul E. Boos, 39, of Fair Lawn was arrested this morning and released pending a grand jury review of child endangerment charges after investigators found “images and/or videos of pubescent and pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

Boos has been working for Pearson Education of Old Tappan, although it currently is unclear what his job was.

Pearson’s vast operations include publishers Prentice Hall, the Financial Times, and the Penguin Group.

“Educating 100 million people worldwide, Pearson is the global leader in educational publishing, providing scientifically research-based print and digital programs to help students learn at their own,” the company says on its web site.

Its programs are designed “for every age and level of student, from preK-12 through higher education and on into professional life,” it says.

The Bergen County-based company’s roots actually stretch back to 1725, the site says, when Thomas Longman published the first book typeset by Benjamin Franklin.

The company produced the Dick, Jane and Spot books that taught generations to read. And North Jersey’s own Prentice-Hall has long been known as the top publisher of academic, business, and professional books.
