Alexis Costa Gossard launched the campaign for her mom, Debbie Costa, who retired last year as a teacher at the Westmoreland School in Fair Lawn.

The Jan. 18 fire began in the basement of Costa's Cedar Court home and blew through the roof around 10:30 p.m., responders said.

Costa, a grandmother, was not home during the fire, but she lost all of her belongings, the GoFundMe says.
