NORWOOD, N.J. -- Runners and walkers looking for a different race course can turn to the Norwood Fast and Flat 5K on Saturday, Oct. 22.
Founded in 2005, the race attracts runners from all over Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Rockland, and other surrounding counties looking to run a new personal best time. The race also attracts many recreational runners and walkers.
The race takes off at Kennedy Field, 453 Broadway, Norwood and the cost is $25 in advance, or $30 same day. Kids Fun Run is free.
There also will be music and refreshments.
The schedule is,
- 8-9:15 a.m. Check-in
- 9:30 a.m. 5K Run and Walk
- 10:30 a.m. Kids Fun Run (one lap around Kennedy Field)
- 10:45 a.m. Awards ceremony
All proceeds benefit Norwood EMS, Norwood PTO, Norwood Fire Department, Norwood Library, Triple Negative Breast Cancers, and numerous other charities chosen each year.
Pre-race packets are available on Friday, Oct. 21, 4-7 p.m. at Runners' House, 88 Westwood Ave., River Vale. All runners picking up their packets will also receive 15 percent off everything in the store.
