A 40-year-old driver was going more than 100 miles per hour, was more than twice the legal limit, and had amphetamine and THC in his system at the time of the February 2024 crash that killed his 38-year-old passenger, authorities said. A bomb threat called into Holy Name Medical Center over the weekend was quickly deemed unfounded, authorities said. An unidentified caller reported a bomb threat to the hospital in Teaneck on Saturday, Aug. 17 around 4 p.m., Teaneck Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr said. A Bogota man was jailed for domestic violence, authorities said. Joshua G. Mejia, 31, was arrested after the victim had to be treated at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck early Friday, April 28, Police Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said. Mejia remained held in the Bergen County Jail while awaiting a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
