Driver Hospitalized After Ho-Ho-Kus Collision
An elderly Mini Cooper driver was hospitalized with serious injuries following a noontime crash in Ho-Ho-Kus. The other driver refused medical attention after the Clubman and Honda Insight collided at 1st Street and North Maple Avenue shortly after 12:30 p.m. Police, firefighters and EMS from both Ridgewood and Ho-Ho-Kus were among the responders, along with two rigs from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Vehicles Towed In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Ridgewood
A vehicle barreled across a Ridgewood lawn and hit a house in a multi-vehicle collision Thursday. No one required medical treatment following the crash on Northern Parkway between Van Buren Avenue and Racetrack Road around 3:30 p.m. A Toyota Camry was parked in the driveway when it was struck by a Scion xB that also took down a basketball hoop after hitting a Chevy Equinox. Jackknifed Tanker Truck Closes Route 208 Right Before Evening Rush
A jack-knifed tanker truck closed southbound Route 208 at the Glen Rock/Fair Lawn border just before the beginning of Monday's evening rush. Severe backups immediately began following the crash just beyond the Harristown Road around 4 p.m., Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Recycling Truck Slams Into Tree In Hawthorne
A driver told police he had "mechanical issues" that sent his recycling truck veered off the road and into a tree in Hawthorne on Tuesday. Goffle Hill Road off Grandview Avenue was temporarily closed while Citywide Towing used a heavy wrecker to remove the 2003 B&B Disposal dump truck, which crashed on a short embankment in front of a home shortly after 10 a.m. There was no immediate word on the driver's injuries. A concrete mixer tipped on the eastbound Route 4 ramp to northbound Route 17 in Paramus, tying up traffic Monday afternoon. Firefighters Free Driver In Franklin Lakes Rollover
Franklin Lakes firefighters freed a heavily entrapped driver after a rollover crash. The Cadillac Escalade was on its side on Summit Avenue at Lynn Drive when responders arrived shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and began removing the roof before turning over the driver to the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps for transportation to an area hospital. Trailer In Washington Township Gives Way Under Weight Of Scrap
A tractor-trailer hauling what authorities called "some type of scrap metal" buckled in half Tuesday morning in Washington Township. The trailer, towed by a tractor from Teplitz Metal Processing in Nanuet, split on Pascack Road near Bethany Church shortly before 9 a.m., Police Chief Richard Skinner said. A Washington Township driver whose car plunged over an embankment toward a brook after she suffered a medical episode was spared a far-worse fate when it hit a tree on the way down, authorities said. Hawthorne Ambulance Knocked On Its Side, Three Removed
One person sustained what were characterized as minor injuries after a Hawthorne ambulance got knocked on its side by an SUV in a late Friday night crash. Three people inside the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps rig had to be removed and taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center after the crash at Goffle Road and Lafayette Avenue. One Hospitalized, Traffic Jammed, After Chain-Reaction Crash On Route 208 In Hawthorne
A rush-hour crash on southbound Route 208 in Hawthorne sent one person to the hospital and jammed traffic for miles. The injuries weren't considered life-threatening, responders said after the 4:45 p.m. chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles. Traffic quickly backed up to the Cedar Hill Exit in Wyckoff.
