SWAT Team Called To Bergen County Home After Restraining Order Violation Escalates: Police A Bergen County SWAT team was called to an Oakland home Sunday morning, Nov. 24, after a restraining order violation escalated into a barricade situation, local police said. Officers responded to a residence on River Road at 8:37 a.m. for a report of a restraining order violation involving Carlos Rocha, 43, formerly of Oakland, who had been barred from the home, Oakland Police Capt. Arrest Made After Hours-Long River Edge Standoff A man was arrested after an hours-long standoff Saturday, Sept. 7 in River Edge. Police were called to an apartment at the Continental Gardens along Reservoir Avenue around 1 or 2 p.m., neighbors said. The Bergen County SWAT Team arrived, and remained at the scene until just before 7 p.m., when one person was escorted out from a unit. It wasn't immediately clear what precipitated the event. Teaneck Police Capture Robber Who Fired Blank Gun In Drug Deal Gone Bad, Authorities Say Teaneck police assisted by a Bergen County SWAT team captured an 18-year-old local man who they said robbed a couple with an imitation handgun during a drug deal. Detectives found a blank gun and bandana that they said Jairrod Shannon, 18, used during the Oct. 5 holdup on Bogert Street, Police Chief Glenn M. O’Reilly said. Officers responding to rounds fired from the blank gun found a 20-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy who said they’d been robbed during a pot deal by Shannon and a juvenile, O’Reilly said.
