Dumont Elks' First Family Fun Day Boosts Charities DUMONT, NJ — Families enjoyed faceprinting, refreshments and live entertainment at the first Family Fun Day held by the Dumont Elks Lodge 2593. Kamal Simmons entertained the crowd as Clumsy the Clown by making balloon creations. Music was provided by the Jam Straight Band. The Elks also held a raffle. “The Elks donate a lot for the Boys and Girl Scouts, so we’re here to give back,” said Ann Bischer, whose niece, Jaclyn Dore, also attended. Palisades Clean-Up Volunteers Flock To Fort Lee FORT LEE, N.J. -- The type of debris didn't matter to a group of young volunteers from Teaneck who did their part on Sunday to tidy up sections of Palisades Interstate Park. Post-Halloween Costume Contestants Welcome At Bergenfield Latin Dance Party DUMONT, N.J. -- Dancers are invited to a post-Halloween costume and dance party with Gift of Dance Studios at Dumont Firehouse Company No. 2 on Sunday, Nov. 8. Six Northern Valley Towns Set Mischief Night, Halloween Curfews NORTHERN VALLEY, N.J. — A number of towns have set curfews for unaccompanied minors on Mischief Night on Friday, Oct. 30, and Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31. Harrington Park - 7 p.m. Haworth - 9 p.m. on both nights. Residents are advised that vehicle traffic will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 31, from Maple Street to Brook Street and from Idle Path to Bridle Path from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Those who live on the streets will have access to roadways. Bergenfield, Dumont Set Mischief Night, Halloween Curfews BERGENFIELD, N.J. — Bergenfield and Dumont have set curfews for unaccompanied minors on Mischief Night on Friday, Oct. 30, and Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31. The curfew for both nights is 10 p.m. in Bergenfield and 9 p.m. in Dumont, their police said. Bergenfield police advised residents to consult the borough's social media pages for any updates on both days. New Milford will not enforce a curfew, their police said.

Alpine, Englewood Cliffs Set Mischief Night, Halloween Curfews ALPINE, N.J. — Alpine and Englewood Cliffs have set curfews for unaccompanied minors on Mischief Night on Friday, Oct. 30, and Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31. Demarest Issues Curfew, Road Closures For Halloween DEMAREST, N.J. — Demarest has a 11 p.m. curfew for Mischief Night on Friday, Oct. 30, and Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31, and will close several residential roads to traffic on Halloween. Norwood and Central Avenue, as well as Rodney Place, will be closed in the early afternoon until 6 p.m. Cresskill advised residents to consult the borough's website for weekend curfews. Dumont Library Ready To Draw Winner In Pumpkin Contest DUMONT, N.J. — Homestead Library in Dumont invited residents to face off in a pumpkin decorating contest, with winners chosen in time for Halloween. Artists were invited to paint the pumpkins and submit them from Oct. 19 - 24 in favorite children’s book characters. The library had a few restrictions -- including no carved pumpkins so that children would avoid knives.
