World Trade Center Beam Comes To Cresskill Wrapped In Glory CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Swathed in the Stars and Stripes, a 7,400-pound steel beam that was once a part of the World Trade Center was delivered to Cresskill Thursday morning to join a proposed monument honoring the victims of 9/11 -- including two police officers from town. Saddle Brook Students Fight Pancreatic Cancer With Big Bracelet Sale SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Inspired by a Saddle Brook school nurse's fight against pancreatic cancer, a group of students are making bracelets to help raise money for research and awareness. "That’s what got us started on this," said Sue Laurentino, a sixth-grade teacher at the Helen I. Smith School. Demarest PTO Keeps Focus On Youngsters DEMAREST, N.J. — A regrouped Demarest PTO is gearing up to do even more for borough youngsters. “We do a lot of great things," said Rebecca La Pira, a mom and one of group’s organizers. Palisades Park Turkish Group Collects For Those In Need PALISADES PARK, N.J. —The Turkish Cultural Center in Palisades Park will collect donated items at ShopRite on Nov. 21 and Dec. 19 to serve those in need throughout the area. “We are expecting a number of donations,” TCC DIrector Yavuz Aydin told Daily Voice. “We will be working from 11 a.m. to 8 or 9 p.m. and I deliver them with my car.
