Joe Gomez has worked in news rooms all across the world.

He started as a radio news reporter at Newsradio 850 KOA in Denver shortly after leaving the University of Colorado at Boulder. Gomez then went on to work as a reporter in Seattle, Houston, Dallas and Washington DC, where he was a National Correspondent for NBC News Radio.

He has appeared on National Television in the US, the UK and in Pakistan as a reporter and commentator.

Maryland Man Arrested For Deadly Daylight Stabbing: Police An 18-year-old has been arrested after detectives say he fatally stabbed a 19-year-old in downtown Silver Spring. Dakari Thomas stabbed Getro Banamina during a physical altercation at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police. The incident happened in the 900 block of Ellsworth Dr. When police arrived they located Thomas, who was suffering from laceration wounds to his hand and arm. $1,500 Reward Offered For ID Of Howard County Bank Robber A $1,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a Howard County bank robber. The robbery happened at Howard Bank on Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City on Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., Howard County police said. A man approached the counter and told the clerk he had a weapon, then passed a note announcing a robbery was taking place and demanding cash, police said. New Tactic To Combat Vehicle Theft Pays In Hudson County A Bronx man was arrested in Hudson County for driving a stolen car, authorities said. Brayan Donosoyanez, 27, was stopped at Columbia Avenue in North Bergen after police randomly checked the Texas Temporary Registration on the vehicle he was driving and determined it was stolen, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. Wawa To Break Ground In Sussex County Wawa will be breaking ground in Sussex County on Dec. 10 for the opening of their newest location, NJ Advance Media reports. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Wawa will happen at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Route 15 and Route 206 in Frankford Township. Covid-19 Cases Surge In NJ Schools As Omicron Presents New Threat New Jersey schools could quickly have to change plans this winter as COVID-19 cases surge among students and staff to the highest levels seen since September, according to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard. Haledon Man Arrested For Child Abuse, Neglect: Prosecutor A Haledon man has been arrested for psychologically and physically abusing a 15-year-old child, authorities said. Yousef Abdo, 40, was arrested on Dec. 8 after an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit determined he had committed numerous acts of abuse and neglect against the teen at a home in Haledon, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Two Juveniles Charged After 16-Year-Old Shot In Neck: Vineland PD A pair of juveniles have been charged after a 16-year-old was shot in the neck, according to Vineland Police. Fire Breaks Out In North Jersey Hotel Firefighters in Englewood responded to a two-alarm fire at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, according to officials. The fire broke out shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Dec. 7 in an unoccupied room on the 5th floor of the hotel, the Englewood Fire Department suspects it may have been caused by an electric HVAC unit in the room. The fire was brought under control about half an hour later, the rooms below on the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd floors sustained water damage. Nobody was injured.

Did You Lose Your Blue Bag? State Police Found This One On Garden State Parkway New Jersey State Police found a blue bag with undisclosed contents on the Garden State Parkway in Cape May County and are trying to return the items to the owner. On Nov. 30, Galloway Station troopers on patrol located a blue bag with a zip closure on the northbound shoulder of the Garden State Parkway in the area of milepost 2.4. The bag has the word CHEMICAL in white and a handwritten label that says “TACKLE STORE” on one side. Anyone with information may contact the New Jersey State Police Galloway Station at 732-441-4500.
