Allendale police: Drunk driver, 20, plows car through front of Pastafino Restaurant

The driver, who wasn’t injured was released to his father on a summons after driving his car over the clock tower island on West Allendale Avenue and through the shuttered storefront, Allendale Police Chief George “Chip” Scherb told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. The building sustained extensive damage, the chief said.

In an ironic twist, Pastafino was owned by Aziz Kastrati, who also owns the defunct Brownstone in Wyckoff, which was struck by a tractor-trailer in August.

Kastrati was sentenced in September to six months in federal prison for structuring $65,000 in cash deposits of under $10,000 to duck currency reporting requirements.

Kastrati closed both restaurants more than 2½ years ago.

He earlier forfeited more than $450,0000 to settle an IRS structuring investigation.
