Two Injured In Warren County House Fire: Police Two people were injured in a house fire in Washington Township on the evening of Monday, Feb. 12, authorities said. At 9:29 p.m., first responders responded to a residence on the 400 block of E. Washington Avenue for a structure fire, Washington Township police said. Upon arrival, flames and heavy smoke conditions were observed and soon the home was fully engulfed, police said.  Two people had self evacuated prior to arrival, police said. A 60-year-old man was airlifted to St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, while a 51-year-old woman was airlifted to Cedar Crest Hospital in Leigh Vall…

A man from Florida was arrested in Washington Township for having illegal firearms after he and another man were initially busted for shoplifting from Target on Saturday, Feb. 3, police said on Facebook. Upon arriving at Target, police encountered two men, age 37 and 40, respectively, from Miami Gardens, officers said. After taking the subjects into custody, one man was found to be carrying a loaded illegal handgun, police said.  Detectives assisted with the investigation and found the man also possessed an assault weapon…

Police: Morris County Homeowner, 58, Threatens Tow Truck Operators With Rifle A 58-year-old Long Valley man brandished a rifle in a Monday morning dispute with tow truck operators, authorities charged. Salvatore Carfaro argued with the operators before threatening them with a rifle during the incident, which occurred outside his Long Valley home just before 11:30 a.m. Monday, Washington Township Lt. Mark Niemynski said. Carfaro was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault with a firearm and making terroristic threats.  He was held at Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
