NJ Judge 'Abused Power And Prestige' Of Office By Letting Secretary Work From Home, Panel Finds A New Jersey judge "abused the power and prestige" of his office by allowing his secretary to work remotely for six months, a state ethics panel has charged. Superior Court Judge Douglas Hurd could be disciplined by the state Supreme Court if the justices support a complaint filed earlier this week by the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct. The unidentified secretary had moved out of state in late 2021 but was exempted from New Jersey's residency requirement, the committee noted. Man Who Killed Morristown Mom For $11M Fortune Gets Prison Time A 25-year-old man who killed his mom and hid her body in the family's North Jersey home in an effort to expedite his inheritance of her $11 million savings has been sentenced to prison. Jared Eng was sentenced to 22 years to life on Wednesday, Oct. 26, for the January 2019 murder that took place in New York City in the Tribeca apartment he shared with his mother Paula Chin, said the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. North Bergen Judge Accused Of Groping Woman North Bergen Judge Accused Of Groping Woman
North Bergen Judge Accused Of Groping Woman A municipal court judge in North Bergen was arrested Thursday for grabbing a woman's breasts without her consent, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.  Nino Falcone, 78, is accused of groping the woman at his Bergenline Avenue law office Aug. 29. His relationship to the woman was not disclosed.  He was charged with criminal sexual contact and released. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 3.  A spokeswoman for the state Administrative Office of the Courts said Falcone has been suspended without pay pending an order by the state Supreme Court.
