Daily Voice left a message early Tuesday with an employee at the T-Mobile store on South Washington Avenue who said the manager was expected at work sometime during the day. The call wasn't returned, however, and the store -- which ordinarily closes at 8 p.m. on weekdays -- shut down early. Horrific: NJ Couple Beat Kids With Buckle, Refrigerator Handle, Power Cords, Authorities Charge A Passaic couple were charged with beating two of their children with a variety of objects over the past four years, authorities announced Wednesday. Alfredo Medina, 48, and his wife, Wanda Fernandez, 30, "never brought the children to receive medical attention at a doctor’s office or hospital after the assaults," one law enforcement official said. Woman Assaulted, Abandoned On Roadside By NJ Men Giving Her Lift Home From Bar Authorities in Somerset County are searching for clues after a woman was assaulted by two men she paid to give her a ride. The woman was at a Plainfield bar when she met two men, who agreed to drive her to Irvington around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 26, North Plainfield Police Lt. Edward Sinker said. During the trip, the men physically assaulted the woman, forcing her out of the vehicle on the highway and fled the scene with her cell phone, police said.
