Drowned North Jersey Fishermen Identified Authorities have identified the two fishermen who drowned New Year's Weekend at Split Rock Reservoir. The bodies of Stanislaw Grezesik, 64, of Clifton, and Tadeusz Florczuk, 76, of Passaic, went on the ice fishing trip at Split Rock Reservoir in Kinnelon on Friday, Dec. 30 — but never returned home, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. Family members called 911 on Dec. 31 at 2 p.m., and the fishermen's belongings were found on the shoreline at the reservoir — along with two holes in the ice approximately 100 yards from shore. Boonton Township firefighters responded to 73 Elcock Ave. as a Sheridan Lane resident reported seeing flames billowing from the home’s second floor around 8:30 a.m., the department said. Photos: Emergency Crews Cross Boonton Reservoir To Rescue Injured Pyramid Mountain Hiker Emergency crews from Morris County ventured deep into the woods and crossed the Boonton Reservoir to rescue an injured hiker Monday afternoon. The Montville Police Department dispatched the Montville Fire Department and the First Aid Squad to Pyramid Mountain after receiving a report of the lost hiker shortly before 1 p.m., authorities said. Rescuers found the hiker “deep in the woods” and stabilized injuries before exiting the area and taking a boat across the Boonton Reservoir, Montville Township police said.
