A 38-year-old passenger was killed and the driver seriously injured in an overnight crash on Route 80, authorities confirmed. Richard Bahamonte of Hillside was pronounced dead at the scene of the eastbound crash near the Teaneck/Ridgefield Park border west of Exit 68 just after 3 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, NJ State Police said. The driver, Julio Brito, 40, of Hasbrouck Heights, lost control of the Honda, which careened off the road, slammed into a concrete barrier and ended up on its roof, they said. A man fatally shot his wife's lover and then himself over the weekend in Newark, sources tell Daily Voice. Terrance Carroll, 51, killed Isaiah Cobb, 33, of Hillside, before turning the gun on himself around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, on the 100 block of Shephard Avenue in Newark, according to Daily Voice sources with direct knowledge of the incident. 27-Year-Old Jeep Driver Killed, Passenger Extricated In NJ Crash
A 27-year-old Warren County Jeep driver was killed and his 33-year-old passenger extricated in a Union county crash Saturday, March 4, authorities said. The unidentified driver lost control of his Jeep Cherokee while heading south on North Broad Street near Hillside Avenue in Hillside just before 10 p.m., Hillside Chief Vincent Ricciardi said. The vehicle hit a guardrail and overturned in front of 16 Hillside Ave. The driver died and the passenger was taken to University Hospital in Newark in unknown condition. A 57-year-old man killed last week in a construction accident at a Hindu temple in South Jersey had been accused of human trafficking, police said. The unidentified man was found unresponsive when police arrived at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir temple on North Main Street in Robbinsville around 3:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, authorities said.
