Police: DWI Sussex County Man Nearly Crashes Into Officer, Fails To Maintain Lane On Route 206 A Sussex County man was drunk when he nearly crashed into a police cruiser last week, authorities said. Anthony Scudilla, of Hopatcong, was traveling on Route 206 in Byram Township when he failed to maintain his lane and nearly hit a police cruiser on Friday, Sept. 25, police said. The Byram patrol officer stopped Scudilla and saw an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, police said. Scudilla, who police say appeared to be intoxicated, was then asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to police. Drunk Hackettstown Driver Restrained After Hitting Police Sergeant, Jefferson PD Says A Hackettstown man being arrested on a drunk driving charge had to be restrained after hitting a Jefferson police officer, authorities said. Police found Robert Devos, 55, last month when he was  stopped for erratic driving on Berkshire Valley Road, Jefferson Police Sgt. Joe Kratzel said. While being processed at Jefferson police headquarters, Devos struck a sergeant several times and had to be restrained, Kratzel said. Lincoln Park PD: Drunk Hit-Run Driver Caught After Turnpike Crash A drunk driver from Towaco kept going after his vehicle hit another near Boonton Turnpike and Pinebrook Road, said police who arrested him. Wilson Matute-Altamirano, 36, was arrested after police found his car in the McDonald's parking lot on Feb. 16 around 6:20 p.m., Lincoln Park Police Detective Kevin Fitzpatrick said. He was charged with DWI, careless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failure to maintain lane.  Matute-Altamirano is due to appear in Lincoln Park Municipal Court to answer to the charges.
