Jerome "Jerry" Christal-Gattanella was rear-ended and killed while his car was parked in the shoulder of the northbound side of the highway in Newark late Monday, Feb. 19, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Madison Alfano of Staten Island, NY, lost control of her car and hit the driver's side of another vehicle on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway in Sayreville around 7:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, New Jersey State Police  Trooper Troy McNair said. Driver Flown To Hospital Dies Following Sussex County Crash With Tree: Njsp A driver died after being flown to the hospital in a Sussex County crash on Monday, Nov. 6, authorities said. The driver was heading north on County Highway 565 near milepost 0.8 in Frankford Township, when he ran off the road and struck a tree around 10:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. The driver was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation and there was no further information as of press time.
