Details Released In Bayonne Officer-Involved Shooting Authorities have released details in an officer-involved shooting early Thursday, July 13 in Bayonne. Bayonne police responding to a report of theft from a gas station on 53rd Street near Avenue E around 6:45 a.m., found a suspect in the parking lot of Burger King on Broadway and 54th, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle, striking two police vehicles and an unoccupied civilian vehicle, Suarez said. An officer discharged his weapon. The winning numbers from the Saturday, Jan. 23 drawing were 05, 16, 18, 21, and 29 and the XTRA number was 02.  The lucky ticket was sold at N & A Services Inc., the BP gas station on Broadway in Bayonne. This was the largest Jersey Cash 5 jackpot ever, surpassing the previous record of $1.96 million in 2013. Drawings are daily at 10:57 p.m. Each jackpot starts at $100,000.

Bayonne Fire Leaves 19 Homeless, No Injuries Reported Firefighters worked in frigid conditions Thursday to contain a blaze that tore through the top floor of a three-story building in Bayonne, Chief Keith Weaver said in a statement.  Firefighters arrived at 247 Broadway around 1:24 p.m. and saw flames pouring from the top windows of the building. Working from outside the structure, firefighters brought the two-alarm blaze under control in about 40 minutes.  An adjacent building sustained water damage but the fire itself was kept to 247 Broadway, Weaver said.
