Mine Hill Driver With Suspended License Admits Having Heroin, Giving Police Bogus ID

A suspended driver from Mine Hill admitted that he had heroin in his car and gave police a bogus identity when he was stopped.

Michael Collette, 33, pleaded guilty to drug possession, hindering his arrest and driving while suspended in Newton on Thursday as part of a plea deal with prosecutors, Sussex County Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said.

Andover police arrested Collette after stopping him for a minor traffic offense Dec. 14, Koch said.

Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Critchley Jr. scheduled sentencing for March 22.
