Animal Cruelty: Man Caught On Camera Abusing Friend's Dog At Mall In Paramus A Rockland County man who was dog-sitting for a friend was caught on video punching, kicking and otherwise abusing the baby pit bull at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, authorities said. Joseph Caraccia, 39, of West Haverstraw, was caught thanks to a good Samaritan who called police to the parking lot of the mall on Tuesday, Oct. 1, Paramus Police Chief Robert M. Guidetti said. The caller "observed the abuser punching, kicking, and throwing the dog into a vehicle," the chief said. Newark Teen Pleads Guilty To Jersey Shore Stabbings, Prosecutor Says A teenager from Newark has admitted to stabbing two Rockland County men on the Jersey Shore during a fight last year, authorities said. Juwan Roman, 18, pleaded guilty on Thursday to two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Roman's name was made public this week after he waived his right to juvenile status in Family Court.  Roman was 17 during the 2020 assault, but he voluntarily agreed to be prosecuted as an adult, the prosecutor said.
