Middletown Bank Robbed A bank robber is on the run in Monmouth County, authorities say.  The suspect walked into the Valley National Bank on Route 35 in Middletown just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, and demanded money from tellers, said county Prosecutor Raymond S. At Home recently signed a lease to open in Middletown Plaza and will move into the 20-year-old space formerly occupied by ShopRite at 1425 Route 35, the outlet says. ShopRite moved across Route 35 to the Kings Commons Shopping Center where the business remodeled a former Sears store, according to the report. Motorcyclist Thrown, Seriously Hurt In Jersey Shore Crash A motorcyclist was seriously hurt after being thrown from his vehicle, authorities said. The crash occurred about noon Saturday on Route 35 in Middletown, reports said. EMS was taking the injured rider, who was suffering from trauma, to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, initial reports said.
