Man, 53, Struck, Killed By Freight Train In North Jersey A married Haworth father of four was struck and killed by a freight train in Harrington Park late Sunday. Responders said the victim apparently walked the two miles or so to the spot 100 yards or so yards south of the LaRoche Avenue crossing, where he was struck shortly after 4 p.m.  The media executive, who'd worked with major television and Internet companies, was pronounced dead at the scene soon after. What began as a motor vehicle stop became a pursuit and a crash around 8 p.m. Monday, police said in a Facebook post. They caught him after a brief foot chase, they said. Southbound Route 9 was partially closed near Lanes Mills Road during the investigation.
