Man Locked Ex-Girlfriend In Crawl Space Of Atlantic City Apartment: Police
An Atlantic City man was accused of locking his ex-girlfriend in an apartment's crawl space, authorities said.
Gary Lockel, 54, was arrested on Friday, May 3, the department said in a news release. He was charged with criminal restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, obstruction of justice, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Atlantic City police responded to the 1400 block of Absecon Boulevard at around 4:37 p.m. Officers received a report of a woman who was assaulted, held against her will, and feared for her life.

A Cape May County man was arrested after barricading himself in a house with his family and threatening police in an hours-long standoff, authorities said.
Rakesh Patel, 47, of Wildwood, was charged with three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree terroristic threats, third-degree resisting arrest, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree obstruction of justice. Brick police arrested three men on multiple drug possession and dealing charges.
On Monday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m., Street Crimes Unit detectives stopped a vehicle being operated by Ricardo Calderon, 43, of Elizabeth. The stop was related to an investigation into illicit activity on Homestead Drive, police said.

Two people have been charged in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy at a New Jersey gas station over the weekend.
Tamir Phillips, 22, of Bensalem, PA, and Chelsea Holman, 29, of Willingboro, NJ, were arrested in the death of Jesse Everett on Aug. 21, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday.
Phillips was charged with first degree murder and weapons offenses while Holman was slapped with hindering apprehension and obstruction of justice.
