80-Year-Old 'Careless Driver' Injured In Route 206 Crash: Police
An 80-year-old Princeton woman was injured and cited for careless driving after causing a two-car crash in Montgomery on Thursday, May 2, authorities said. At 12:52 pm, the woman was driving a 2009 Honda northbound on Route 206 near Applegarth Road when she rear-ended a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was stuck in traffic, Montgomery police said on Facebook. The woman complained of chest pains and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, police said. The driver of the pickup truck and his passenger were not injured, police said. A 71-year-old Moonachie trailer park resident was arrested after a resident found him naked and taking selfies in the laundry room, authorities said. Officers Scott Lemongello and Daniel Leoncini reviewed surveillance video at the Metropolitan Mobile Home Park and identified the birthday-suited, selfie-snapping suspect as Frank Volpe, Police Chief Richard Behrens said. The officers went to his trailer home and arrested Volpe, who was charged with lewdness and released pending a Municipal Court hearing, the chief said. A 46-year-old Burlington County man has been indicted on multiple charges including bias intimidation of his black neighbors, damaging property, stalking, criminal mischief, drug and weapons violations. The 15-count grand jury indictment was returned Friday against Edward C. UPDATE: There's another side to an incident involving a New Milford firefighter and an employee at a cellphone store in Bergenfield whom he accused of attacking him in front of his young son, borough police said early Tuesday evening. Daily Voice left a message early Tuesday with an employee at the T-Mobile store on South Washington Avenue who said the manager was expected at work sometime during the day. New Jersey courts have dismissed or vacated 88,000 pot convictions since July 1, with plenty more to come, the state Judiciary announced. State authorities are still working out how the Garden State’s legal marijuana market will work. An Englewood driver took her road rage against another motorist too far when she waved a fake gun, police in Lodi said.
