An impaired driver who fled police in Ridgewood hit several vehicles with a sedan before he was finally captured just off Route 17 in Paramus. Lt. A tow truck driver from Bergenfield was impaired when he responded to a call in Ridgewood, then left both doors of his rig open and split, said police who found him hoofing it a block or so away. The owner of the disabled car requested a tow behind the Daily Treat Restaurant on East Ridgewood Avenue late Sunday afternoon. Authorities on Monday identified a resident killed in a weekend apartment fire at a senior living community in Ridgewood. The body of Denise Dillon, 72, was found after firefighters doused the flames in her unit at the Ridgecrest Senior Housing development on Ridge Road shortly after 7:30 p.m., Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. A Ridgewood homeowner taking a trash can to the curb late Wednesday discovered the body of a woman in a large leaf pile. Injured Boy Rescued At Bergen Pool
UPDATE: An 8-year-old boy was hospitalized after being injured during opening day of Ridgewood's Graydon Pool. The boy was conscious but initially couldn't move, immediately raising fears of a spinal injury, after he either fell or jumped from a platform and hit his neck shortly before 6 p.m., witnesses said.
